Fuglsang sø: Recreation area
25 hectares of nature has created a frame for an attractive housing and recreative area close to Herning. The new landscape is a merging of a big geometrical form, a circle, that has been transformed,and lines that correspond to landmarks and views in order to enjoy the surrounding landscape. The lake's shape is iconic and easily recognizable. It generates a great diversity of landscapes, from dunes to granite plazas, allées, nature trails, lake bathing piers, canals, and ponds. Each contains a great diversity of vegetation, from water plants along the canal with informal plantings of trees and shrubs,to dry and sandy coastal vegetation on the dunes. All these landscapes are suitable to recreative purposes, such as swimming, bathing, walking, cafe dining, and resting.
Fuglsang sø: Housing area
Housing ares designed to be situated on the west side of the lake and create a continuity in the urban fabric. Offering inspiring views and direct access to the water are the primary qualities of this project. Along the north-west side of the lake, three-storey villas are surrounded by protruding canals, that emphasize the proximity of the water and open up the views .On the south-west side, five-storey buildings are designed to generate a maximum of green open space between the buildings, and therefore accentuate the close relationship to the water.
