Aalborg harbourfront is centrally located in the town center. The area was previously an industrial site, that metamorphosed into a gigantic parking area. The harbourfront has great potential due to its important location between Limfjorden and Aalborg.
As one comes out from the narrow streets of the city, the harbourfont provides an urban relief where the big open sky meets this large mass of water.
The main goal is to create close contact to the water and emphasize the contrast between the harbourfront and the rest of the city.
The whole harbourfront becomes an active destination, that offers activities and leisure areas, such as a promenade, gardens, plazas, piers, cafes and sports fields.
