The European Film College is located on the highest point in an extremely beautiful, hilly landscape with a panoramic view of the town and Ebeltoft bay. The vegetation on the sandy hills consists of various grasses, a pine forest, and low windswept shrubs.
Paved areas are laid out horizontally, and where the form does not work with the natural gradient of the land, the transition is created by thick iron plates replacing cast stone walls and granite boulder dikes.
On the Eastern side, a large row of pines are lit to form a line of lights that serves as a landmark in the evening. Outdoor lighting is of great importance in order to emphasize the long views across the grounds to the west.
