River Garden
The north west corner of the Kolding University campus is where the University and the city meet, making this the central pedestrian entrance to the site. Movement coming from across the bridge is directed amongst a central alley of trees into the University. Two secondary alleys coming off the central axis divide the green area into differing green compartments making up the Åhaven (River Garden).
University Garden
All three University buildings face inward to the Studiehaven (University Garden.) The garden was designed to allow for maximum cross movement which will be viewed from above. Mass planting is planted on the east of the site acting as a buffer against the road traffic which is distilled as it encounters the center of the garden. Diagonal cuts within the planting allow for cross movement, connecting the buildings both visually and physically.
Sports Garden
In contrast with the other gardens, the Sportshavn (Sports Garden) in the south west of the campus area is characteristically wild. Within the tall grass, clusters of shrubs and trees are scattered amongst the ball fields and walking paths.
