Water is both a source of inspiration and sparring partner for the Gammel Dok project. The plaza lies between the Eigtved Warehouse and the Old Dock Warehouse. The Warehouse is now used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, housing architecture exhibitions and the Danish Arts and Crafts Workshop and is protected by law.
Under the plaza is a wooden dry dock that was covered in the 1920s. The feeling of water is established by a `pool´ that serves as a link between the two buildings. The pool is cut across in a couple of places and holds a little peninsula that in time will be filled with wild strawberries and trees. Even if the double row of parking should be abandoned, no further vegetation will be planted.
